Re: Several areas thought to contain previously-undiscovered Welsh gold have been discovered by Alba Mineral Resources, who bought a stake in Gold Mines of Wales.<br />
They now own the exploration rights to a 104 sq km area where gold veins could be located.<br />
It hopes to restart the Welsh gold mining industry after the last mine closed over 20 years ago.<br />
Incredibly rare and expensive, Welsh gold is traditionally associated with the royal family, a custom of using Welsh gold for royal wedding rings was started by the Queen Mother in 1923 and has been used by royal brides ever since.
