Patricia Connors, 66, from Cardiff, died after being hit by a Ford Transit van while trying to catch her dog which had escaped from her car at rush hour on Friday.
The great-grandmother’s husband, son and nephew are currently unable to attend her funeral as they are serving time in jail.
Her husband Patrick Joseph Connors, 60, was jailed for 14 years in May last year after a court heard he used two vulnerable men like “slaves”.
A family spokesman said she had been separated from Patrick for three years and had no involvement in the court case.
Son Patrick Dean Connors, 40, and nephew William Connors, 37, were also jailed after the men were made to sleep in sheds and caravans without heating or running water.
