Slater, 57, abused a boy and two girls, after grooming them with gifts of money and cigarettes, he then threatened into keeping them quiet about what he had done.
The court heard details of the impact the abuse had on his victims, including anorexia, self-harming and suicidal thoughts.
Catherine Richards, for the CPS, told the court that Slater assaulted the children over the course of a number of years, as well as performing sex acts on himself in their presence.
He also raped his male victim, who was 10 and 12 at the time.
The abuse only came to light earlier this year when the male victim, who is now an adult, reported the matter to the police.
Further inquiries by investigating officers led to the two female victims.
He was jailed for 25 years, comprising of 18-years in custody with a seven year licence period and must serve at least two thirds in custody before he can apply for parole.
He will be on the sex offenders register for the rest of his life, and was made the subject of a sexual harm prevention order to control his access to children.
