Graham Westbury, 66, was given Power of Attorney to handle the financial affairs of his mother Joyce when she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's.
A court heard Joyce died aged 90 and her fortune was due to be split between Westbury and his brother Keith.
But father-of-four Westbury had spent every penny of her £245,000 legacy.
His wife and children sobbed in the public gallery as he was jailed for three-and-a-half years.
Judge Daniel Williams told Westbury: "It was only after your mother's death that your dishonesty came to light.
"You helped yourself for years until her estate was reduced to nothing.
"You appear to be wholly unburdened by any form of guilt at a all."
Westbury who runs a Hillarys Blinds franchise in Haverfordwest admitted four charges of theft.
