Re: A rogue builder, described as having a “blatant disregard for safety” made nearly £30,000 from clients he left with work, well below standard. <br />
Cardiff Crown Court heard it cost his customers thousands of pounds to sort out the shoddy work and mess from ACE Plastering and Building Services Limited run by Ian Cottle.<br />
Judge Neil Bidder QC told the defendant: “All you wanted was the consumers’ cash.”<br />
The offending occurred between July 2015 and August 2016 and included work of cement-stained windows, peeling paint and falling down walls.<br />
Cottle used advertisements for his business in local papers The Barry Gem and Barry and District News.<br />
The defendant claimed he was City and Guilds qualified, as well as being fully insured – which was not true.
