Re: A top restaurant which claimed its salmon were fresh from the River Wye has admitted buying it from fish farms.<br />
Magistrates heard the menu at Foyle's restaurant boasted Wye Salmon and Wye trout on the menu.<br />
Trading Standards officers were called in because it is illegal to sell salmon caught from the River Wye.   <br />
 The restaurant in the village of Glasbury-on-Wye, Powys, was ordered to pay £7,430 in costs and fines.<br />
The court heard Foyle's customers thought they were tucking into locally-caught wild salmon and trout.<br />
But after a tip-off Powys Trading Standards launched an 18-month investigation into the restaurant which gets rave reviews on TripAdvisor.
